Secluded oasis – Musée du quai Branly

Just a short walk from the Eiffel Tower along the foot path there is a building covered with green vegetation. This is the vertical garden at the Musée du Quai Branly. Behind the sound-proofed glass wall that follows there is a secluded garden. The garden houses the Musée du quai Branly which displays indigenous art, cultures and civilizations from Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas. The Cafe Branly, open air in the summer, is a good way to relax after a visit to the museum in the garden, overlooking the Eiffel Tower.

Hotel de l’Alma – good choice near Rue Cler and ET

Hotel de l’Alma is a moderatly priced 3-star hotel in a little street, close to Rue Cler, between the Invalides and Champs de Mars. The Eiffel Tower is only a few minutes from the hotel, and from the rooms on the 6th – I was told – you can actually see it. It is a moderately priced 3-star hotel. Nothing fancy – not too modern, not too antique. The double I stayed in was big enough, even with Parisian standards. Clean room with TV (sport in English, a German and a few French channels), mini bar, safe, heater (hot enough in the room without it), working WI-FI on the 4th floor (they said on every floor), clean and new looking bathroom. I had a room with a room looking out on the street – for me that was a bonus, but there are also rooms overlooking the little patio below. Staff friendly, helpful. It was relatively cheap, especially that I booked at short notice and only for one night. It was a good choice.

Favorite of Rick Steves, Rue Cler itself and the area around it is a very charming Parisian district. Angles – the Eiffel Tower

Although I am still here in the UK, both physically and in soul, Paris is always on my mind. Having just recently visited the city, the memories are still very vivid. Paris has a million faces, it would be impossible to show it in any single work – book, film or any other means. However, you can take an event or an object out and look at it from different perspectives. This time I explored the Eiffeil Tower a little bit, looking at it from different angles.
